PARTE A:  COMMON SHOE VERBS


poder   → to __be able to (I can/you can)___

pedir  → to __ask for________

jugar   → to ___play (GAMES/SPORTS)____

REMEMBER, all of these verbs are in the _infinitive_ form*; they end with ___AR, _ER, or _IR.


*It’s called the  _infinitive_ form because we can conjugate INFINITE ways from this form!

WHAT DO YOU NOTICE?    Everything uses the SAME -ER endings, but ALSO,


every   form/person has a CHANGE in the STEM of the verb, except ___nosotros  (we)_____


and _vosotros (y’all)___!!        For this worksheet, you can use the stem changes you see, like (e → ie) and (o → ue).


Draw an outline around the ones that have a change in the STEM of the verb.  What do you see?


That’s why we call these verbs the  ___boot / shoe___ verbs!!

All regular verbs that end in -AR use the same endings for each person:
